We had the good fortune of connecting with Alyssa Gaspar and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Alyssa, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
My thought process behind starting my own business and was what can I do to expand my horizons and my passion for photography? Being is full time student, it was hard to work a full time job so I thought this was a way for me to earn some extra money to help make ends meet while showcasing my love of photography.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
My photographs are my art. I like the idea of pictures telling stories and that’s just what they do. It is very exciting knowing that I captured a moment that will live on in the homes of my clients. Getting to where I’m at today required a lot of patience and hard work which wasn’t easy but made it all worth it. The challenges I had to overcome was getting clientele and coming up with different marketing ads to keep people interested as well as being clients in. What I would want the world to know about aGasparPhotos is that here, we strive not just for the satisfaction of our clients but their happiness as well. From quality images to a quick turn around time we want nothing more than for our customers to be ecstatic when they see the finished product.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
My favorite spots in the city would be Coronado, Old Poway Park and Mission Bay just to name a few.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I want to give a shout-out to Nai Tia of LoveAlwaysProductions for giving me my first ever project of taking the photos for her feminism magazine. I also want to give a shout-out to Tashawna Mack of Boundariez by Mizfit for choosing me to photograph the launch of her boutique. And my boyfriend Shaine for the support and love he has for me and what I do.
