We had the good fortune of connecting with Alyssa Donato and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Alyssa, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
Like many others COVID really through a wrench into work / travel / life aspirations. I was working from a one bedroom apartment with my partner in a town I just recently moved to. I started offering astrogeography sessions as a way for people to still get the taste of traveling without leaving their home. I originally started offering sessions as a way to raise money for children who couldn’t afford school lunches during the start of the pandemic. Sessions were short and only $20, till more people kept coming and requesting I do a reading for them. Business grew really naturally and a year in I’ve successfully read over 140 charts, and am booking retreats and other events! So, no process, just trusting in the people who were showing up before me who wanted something I could offer them.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
There have been a lot of trial and error’s to get to the space where I’m at now. Lots of overcoming hardships, partnerships that have failed, tests that have been also failed. Coming into a space of learning what you are good at takes a lot of effort and exertion especially as someone who is very empathic. I feel most proud of always sticking with my authenticity and truth of who I am, my core beliefs. remain strong in everything I bring to life. I think everything we, do, say, be, embody, is a form of art. When we look at the world from a space of wonder and joy, things begin to shift around us, we embody life as art. Getting to the spacie of recognizing that artistic creation has definitely not been an easy road to walk. Personally, there’s a lot of perfectionism that I had to overcome and I’m still overcoming.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If my best friend was visiting the area, I would take them straight to my beehives ha! It’s the space I feel most connected, grounded, earth bound and awake. It gives me a sense of being home. The space where we have the bee sanctuary, sits on acres of fruit trees, gardens, chickens, and orchards. It’s filled with Over 20 bee hives, and it’s a sanctuary for the heart.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Recognizing the sacredness of my beloved vessel through the powerful sacred union of my parents. Without whom,I wouldn’t be all the way across the country bee keeping and diving into the spiritual realms of life. To my dad’s spiritual passing, without that transmutation of energy life would look very different.
