Meet Alyssa Donato

Today we’re excited to be connecting with Alyssa Donato again. If you haven’t already, we suggest you check out our prior conversation with them here.
Alyssa, thanks for joining us again. Just to level set a bit for folks who may have missed our last interview together, can you briefly introduce yourself?
Thank you so much for having me again—it’s an honor to reconnect and share more about my work! My name is Alyssa, and I’m an astrologer, doula, and herbalist passionate about supporting individuals during transformative life moments. Through my brand, A Ceremony of Birth, I weave together ancient wisdom, modern tools, and deep care to guide people through birth, postpartum, and the rhythms of life. At its core I love supporting people through what we call threshold moments. Where one version of yourself is dying and the other has yet to be born.
My journey has been one of blending passions: I’ve spent years working with thousands of clients through astrology, helping them understand themselves and align with the energy of their ancestral lands using astrogeography. Alongside that, my work as a doula allows me to offer hands-on support during one of life’s most profound transitions. What sets me apart is this integration of celestial insight with grounded, physiological care, as well as my focus on ritual and honoring the intelligence of nature.

Alright, so our main goal today is to give our audience an update on what you have been up to since our last conversation. We’d love to hear how things are going and what you are most looking forward to or excited about these days.
Since we last connected, I’ve been immersed in a period of growth and transition. One of the most exciting shifts has been stepping more fully into my role as a doula. Supporting families through birth and postpartum has been deeply fulfilling work, offering me the chance to combine my love of nurturing care, intuition, and honoring life’s most sacred thresholds. It’s been an incredible process, learning how to hold space in such intimate and transformative moments.
Alongside this, astrology continues to be a pillar of my work. I’m always expanding my studies, finding new ways to connect people with their charts and the wisdom of the stars. I’ve loved weaving astrology into my doula practice, offering clients insight into the energetic themes surrounding their journeys into parenthood. It’s been a beautiful way to integrate both passions and create a truly holistic approach to care.
A major highlight of this year has been leading my first international retreat, The Belt of Venus, in Baja. This experience was truly a dream come to life—bringing together a group of soulful individuals in a stunning natural setting to explore astrology, connect with their inner worlds, and tune into the rhythms of nature. It was a reminder of how powerful community and intentional space can be. Seeing participants leave feeling refreshed and inspired was such a joy and has inspired me to dream even bigger for future retreats.
Of course, this journey hasn’t been without its challenges. Transitioning into new roles and holding space for others can be as demanding as it is rewarding. But every step has reaffirmed that I’m exactly where I’m meant to be. Right now, I’m most excited about continuing to deepen my practice, support my clients in meaningful ways, and dream up new offerings that combine astrology, doula work, and ritual.
I’m so grateful to be on this evolving path and to share it with a community that values connection, growth, and the beauty of life’s transitions.

What are you most excited about in the coming year?
As I look ahead to the coming year, I feel a deep sense of excitement and purpose about the opportunities on the horizon. One of the things I’m most thrilled about is hosting another international retreat. After the success of The Belt of Venus retreat, I’m inspired to create another sacred space for connection, self-discovery, and transformation. There’s something so magical about gathering a community in a beautiful setting, and I can’t wait to bring that vision to life again.
I’m also looking forward to teaching more about ceremonial tea, a practice that’s so close to my heart. Tea has been a grounding, meditative ally in my life, and sharing its ritualistic and nourishing qualities with others is a gift. Whether it’s guiding people through their own tea practice or showing how tea can become a pathway to inner cultivation, I’m excited to dive deeper into this art form.
Most of all, I’m honored to continue supporting families through the sacred threshold of birth. Holding space for people during this profound time is one of the most rewarding aspects of my work. Whether it’s helping a family welcome their baby or guiding them through the postpartum period, being part of this journey is something I never take for granted. I’m constantly inspired by the strength and wisdom of the families I work with, and I feel so grateful to be part of their stories.
This year feels like one of expansion and alignment, and I can’t wait to see how it all unfolds <3
