We had the good fortune of connecting with Alejandro Ramírez and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Alejandro, any advice for those thinking about whether to keep going or to give up?
Since I finished my university degree, I set out on the path to enter and participate in competitions, these same did not achieve progress, but I kept moving forward is perseverance, perseverance, maintaining a discipline and it is until 2018 that I began to see those fruits of the processes, I did not give up, contests passed, the years and now it begins, do not give up, continue, you will not know until you see the results.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I am an architect, I have dedicated myself since the end of my degree in 2009, to the realization of Executive Projects, however my passion is design, that is why I have dedicated myself to being periodically active in international architecture competitions, which is practically a conceptualization of a space following the rules of the same, more than anything this makes me feel that what we imagine at the time can be built, I have gone through several offices, it was in one where I managed to have an empathy with the landscape, they are processes that I have maintained discipline, deliver in form and time, in addition to being very convinced that the idea is original and part of a concept that is very important to be able to stand out. Years have passed since I finished my studies at the university but, as advice you have to keep reading, see what happens in the world of architecture, the evolution of cities.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
It is a question that I like. I live in Mexico City, here I would undoubtedly take you to eat, there is typical food, from tacos, tortas, enchiladas, the ideal historical center to visit, its architecture, there are pyramids, buildings built during the Spanish colony, and of course the architecture Contemporary, without a doubt walking along Paseo de la Reforma, going to the Chapultepec Forest, and of course if you dare to visit Mexico City, it would be my tour to get you here.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Sure, I certainly admire OMA a lot professionally, an architecture firm led by Rem Koolhaas, it has interesting publications, from mutations, delirious New York, and of course my family and friends who know that I am always in this to be chasing.
