We had the good fortune of connecting with Leeya Wilson and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Leeya, maybe we can start at the very start – the idea – how did you come up with the idea for your business?
When we found out about my sons multiple food allergies I was heart broken. My entire world changed, and our diet changed drastically. We could not eat anything we used to, and missed out on a lot. My eyes were opened to the struggle of food allergies, and I wanted to help the 1 in 13 people who have to go through this daily battle get to enjoy delicious treats they don’t normally get to.
What should our readers know about your business?
Allergy Mommy Treats are free of gluten, dairy, soy, eggs, tree nuts (excluding coconut), seeds, peanuts, and corn. I have grain free options, coconut free options, and every one of my treats can be made refined sugar free. It was not a easy start, it took me months of failed recipes to finally achieve what I have. My sons food allergies led me down a path of true health, and healing through food. What sets me apart from others is that all of my treats are made with REAL food ingredients. My treats are organic, non GMO, and have no additives, preservatives, chemicals, or junk! I want the world to know that you can still enjoy cookies, cake, brownies, etc. even with severe food allergies.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Before 2020 my favorite places to take friends and family were Disneyland, the beaches, shopping, and on a beautiful hike by my home in Temecula.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My son is my motivation behind everything I do. His food allergies have inspired me to help others going through the same thing, and in the process of food elimination taught me about true health. I also want to thank my husband for encouraging me to do whatever I love, and being there for me through the ups and downs.
