How did you choose a creative path?

Deciding to pursue an artistic or creative career path isn’t for the faint of heart. Challenges will abound, but so many of the artists we speak with couldn’t be happier with their choice. So, we asked them about how they made the decision in the first place.

I decided to pursue a career as an artist to satisfy my inner child. Being in this industry gives me a sense of purpose and I finally feel like I am where I am supposed to be in life. This path has brought more happiness than I could ever imagine. As a child, I always wanted to be a makeup or hair artist, but my parents encouraged me to attend a 4-year college and get a degree instead. I followed their advice and ended up at a corporate job selling software. However, I found myself unhappy and unfulfilled in the corporate rat wheel. Ever since I was young, I thought about how I wanted my life to mean more than just working a 9-5 job. There was never anything that really interested me career wise except for becoming a photographer. I pursued an artistic and creative career because it allows me to express myself in ways that feel authentic and fulfilling. Creativity has always been a way for me to channel my emotions, thoughts, and experiences, whether through fashion, music, or content creation. I’ve always been drawn to the power of art to connect people, tell stories, and inspire change. My brand, Gorgezze, reflects this passion by merging fashion, beauty, and holistic wellness, and it gives me the opportunity to not only create but also empower others to feel beautiful inside and out. My passion for art began at an early age, inspired by watching my father draw. By the time I was 10, I had picked up a pencil and started creating my own drawings. I taught myself along the way, constantly refining my skills. As I grew older, I transitioned to digital art, starting with Microsoft Paint, which deepened my love for design and creativity. This natural progression eventually led me to pursue graphic design as a major in college, where I began creating logos, cartoon graphics, and flyers for others. Read more>>
