We had the good fortune of connecting with Brice Holmes and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Brice, how does tech affect you and your business? How does it help? How can it hold you or others in your industry back?
As an online platform, technology is at the heart of everything we do in our business. ONtrepreneur Academy employs a wide variety of tech in our products, services, and internal processes — from automated systems to SaaS products, artificial intelligence to data science. Aside from the human component, technology is probably the single most important contributor to our success. We’re in an incredible era right now for both business and technology. Affordable tech couldn’t be more accessible and businesses all over the globe are leveraging it to reduce their costs, increase their output, improve results, and make better forward-thinking business decisions. That said, I believe there are still a lot of businesses, particularly SMBs, leaving money on the table. For most, it’s not because they don’t have the financial resources for better tech, but because they don’t fully grasp the opportunity cost of not having it. And some are flat-out intimidated by it. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve heard some variation of, “If it isn’t broken, why fix it?” or, “I’m not a techie, therefore… [insert excuse here]”. That’s precisely why our business exists — to help bridge that gap and empower entrepreneurs to get more done with less effort byway of user-friendly technology. When businesses are able to take advantage of the scalability that technology offers, the results are astounding.

What should our readers know about your business?
Ever since we launched ONtrepreneur Academy in 2014, our ongoing commitment has been to deliver the most innovative solutions for entrepreneurs to build and grow their businesses online. Through education and tools, we’ve been able to help thousands of entrepreneurs — something we’re incredibly proud of. But despite our successes, we felt that we needed to do more. There was still a lot of growth opportunity for our customers, so we wanted to build something that would help them really amplify their results. Ironically, after spending a couple of years building the perfect internal solution for our own business, we stumbled upon an entirely new way for our customers to grow their businesses. And with that, flexvid.io was born. flexvid.io is an interactive video platform that enables influencers, content marketers, and entrepreneurs to drive better results from their videos. Out of all of the solutions we’ve offered over the years, this one excites us the most because it offers a measurable way for business owners to increase engagement, leads, and sales through their existing video content. Our customers are already using video in their businesses; flexvid.io just gives them a distinct edge over their competition. Obviously, we’re a bit biased, but we believe that flexvid.io offers tools that are both state-of-the-art and capable of delivering the most immersive, personalized video content imaginable. We give content creators the ability to optimize the impact of their video campaigns, while simultaneously giving end users a truly unique viewing experience. Whether you’re integrating flexvid.io into your existing sales funnels or using it as a standalone solution, we believe it has the potential to become an integral part of every content creator’s toolkit. Best of all, it’s easy for anyone to use.

Any great local spots you’d like to shoutout?
There are so many amazing places to explore in this amazing city! Some of my favorite things to do are kayaking in La Jolla Cove and hiking Torrey Pines State Beach. When it comes to food, Fish Shop is a staple for me, along with Cardiff Seaside Market, Board and Brew, and Craft & Commerce.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would love to give a shout out to all of my friends, colleagues, and mentors at San Diego State University. In particular, my fellow former board members of the Entrepreneur Society and the leadership team at the Lavin Entrepreneurship Center, Alex Denoble and Bernie Schroeder. Each one has played an instrumental role in my entrepreneurial journey and I’m continuously inspired by their ongoing contributions and achievements. The wealth of knowledge, experience, and support I was able to tap into with them stands out more than any other resource throughout my entire MBA program.
