We had the good fortune of connecting with Amie Agamata and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Amie, can you talk to us a bit about the social impact of your business?
Roughly 50% of Americans have less than $100,000 saved for their retirement and only about 18% of Americans have a true comprehensive financial plan. Many individuals tend to view their investment portfolio as their financial plan. While investments are important, they make up only one part of a financial plan. My team is committed to helping individuals make decisions in their best interest to help them get on track for retirement and achieve their personal, professional, and financial goals through comprehensive financial planning. We also work with business owners to set up and customize their company’s retirement plans to match their corporate culture and focus on successful participant outcomes.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
I’m a Certified Financial Planner and partner with a Wealth Management Advisor in San Diego. I’ve been working with him since 2012 when I was a sophomore in college at San Diego State University. It was challenging studying for various professional licensing exams as a full-time student, but I’ve learned that perseverance, dedication, and investing in your intellectual capital pays off in the long run! My business partner also serves as one of my mentors. He leads by example and inspires me to be the best version of myself. I enjoy partnering with someone who shares the same strong core values as me; our business mission is working together to achieve financial success through understanding, education, and action.© It’s rewarding to work with clients, understand their financial issues, and craft a solution based on their needs to help them accomplish their goals and objectives. Our entire team is committed to providing exceptional financial services to our clients and community. We recognize the importance of strategic planning to develop enhanced processes to better serve our clients. Last October, we spent a week in Brian Head, UT brainstorming ideas to improve systems; our entire condo was covered with mind maps! We’re excited to continue growing our business and helping more individuals achieve their personal, professional, and financial goals!

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
There’s so many wonderful places in San Diego! My favorite areas are La Jolla/Bird Rock, Encinitas, and Little Italy. You can’t go wrong with a bike ride around Bird Rock in La Jolla along the neighborhood streets with all of the beautiful homes and ocean views. LJ crafted wines is a great little spot – their sommeliers always teach you something new about your favorite wines! In the summer, you can find my friends and me at Swami’s in Encinitas. The beaches in North County tend to be a little less touristy and the water just seems clearer up there. Encinitas is also home to one of my favorite music venues, Belly Up! Little Italy has one of my other favorite music venues – the Casbah. The Casbah is a bit smaller than Belly Up so it’s more intimate; you can get face to face with the artist if you arrive early enough! Barbusa, which is my all-time favorite Italian restaurant, is located in Little Italy. Their garlic bread is lifechanging and the crab pasta is incredible. I’m a big fan of live music, so a couple other venues that I love are House of Blues and Humphrey’s in Downtown and Point Loma. Kaaboo was my favorite music festival when it was located at the Del Mar Fairgrounds! This year marks my 10th year living in San Diego. It’s a fun city because the neighborhoods are so different yet so close together and there’s always something going on (pre-Covid)!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
While there are many people that I’m grateful for, I’d like to dedicate my shoutout to my dad. He is my greatest influence and I wouldn’t be where I am today if it weren’t for him. He suggested that I major in Business Finance, introduced me to my business partner, and continues to encourage me to always keep going when the going gets tough. A big part of my success is a reflection of his unconditional love and support.
