We had the good fortune of connecting with Chloe Panta and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Chloe, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
Ideally I wanted to do something that I would light me up everyday. I also wanted to help people in some form or another and help make their day brighter if I could. Thinking back, I had no idea what that would be and that starting a business would mean helping someone else. I just knew I wanted to give back in some way; in my own way. My process was simple; I wanted the ability to live out my dreams which are to travel the world and work from wherever I am in the world; or not – and still earn money. Over time that business has become creating content and helping others see joy in the world by inspiring them to live in the moment and live out their very own dreams. If I can build a business to do that, anybody can.

What should our readers know about your business?
As a content creator, I’ve had many ups and downs in my business. I’ve switched gears so many times to adapt to the world that we live in. I would say that as long as you have a clear, outlined path to your goals, you will reach them. Will they be easy? That all depends on our mindset and the path we choose.  My journey to where I am today was challenging. I have failed so many times in my business that I almost thought maybe I just wasn’t cut out to do what I do now. I thought that maybe I wasn’t meant to have a business and be successful. One thing that I do that has helped me (and still helps me), is to ask myself why I am doing something. It helps me to get deeper into knowing the reason behind the effort and the work. If you have a strong enough why behind your reason for building your business and overcoming your challenges; nothing can stop you. I’d like the world to know more about my brand, Bonne Chic. It is an online destination for lifestyle and travel inspiration for the modern woman who enjoys curated tips and tools on creating an online business. I started Bonne Chic in 2016 after I decided it was time to focus on my big picture in life and I started my blog. I was able to leave my job behind and focus on my business, which has taught me so much about gratitude, perseverance and the ability to create my own reality.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Living in L.A. has it’s perks for sure! Here’s where I’d take a friend: First, we’d spend the night in L.A. and go to North Italia in Redondo Beach. They have some of the most eclectic Italian food and we’d have dinner there. The next day, we’d venture up north to Santa Barbara and spend the day at the beach. We’d have plenty of time to catch up and enjoy the beautiful weather. Santa Barbara has so many wonderful restaurants and we’d find a little beach cafe and have lunch before heading to Old Mission to explore the gardens. Santa Barbara is probably one of my favorite places in the world as it is just such a beautiful combination of Old World Spanish charm and modern elegancy. We’d walk downtown and explore the shops and reminisce on our childhood. The next day, we’d visit Knapp’s Castle to snap some photos. I can always use extra photos for content and create a blog post on the location. I love SB (as the locals refer to it), because it’s peaceful (if you go early) and there are less people. After a bit of exploring, we’d venture up to Cambria to explore the central coast. When we arrive in Cambria, we’s stay at El Colibri Hotel and Spa, which is one of my favorite places to stay. It’s peaceful, only a short walk to the beach and so relaxing. We’d order French food from Madeline’s (the best French food in town) and watch old reruns of the Golden Girls. After waking up from a peaceful sleep, we’d get in an early morning hike at San Simeon and visit the orcas. We’d go whale watching and just enjoy spending time in nature. After a day out, we’d head back to Cambria and walk along the coast on Moonstone Beach, which is such a breathtaking walk during sunset. We’d watch people go by and say hello as we carry on in casual conversation. These are some of the most relaxing places to visit in California and I would hope that my friend would enjoy them as much as I do!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would have to say my mom and my grandma. Throughout my entire journey of ups and downs, failures and successes, they have been there to root me on. Despite any shortcomings or risks that I have taken in my life and my business, they have been the rock I needed to support me in my endeavors. They have been my encouragement. Without them I would not be where I am today in my life and my business.
