Meet Samet Saygılı | CG Generalist

We had the good fortune of connecting with Samet Saygılı and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Samet, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
I actually graduated with a degree in Economics. Back in university, I used to create manipulation videos just for fun. After I graduated, I kept doing it as a hobby. One day, while working as a sales assistant at a store, I started creating social media content for the store — still just for fun. From that point on, I kept improving and building on it.
Now, it’s no longer just a hobby — it’s my profession and source of income. I create projection mapping content for special events, music videos for artists, and CGI videos for brands. Most importantly, I produce content for my own creative project: my account called Vectorhumor.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Being an artist is such a joyful and fun journey. Of course, reaching a point where you can earn a living from it professionally is challenging — just like anything else. But the key, as with any job, is to enjoy the process and never give up.
I hate feeling stuck in one place or routine. I love trying new things — not just in my work, but in life in general. That’s why I don’t enjoy roles like “just modeling” or “only working as a lighting artist.” I prefer having a hand in every part of the creative process, knowing that I have control over the whole picture. It’s what makes it even more fulfilling for me.
That said, I also truly enjoy working on collective projects. As we all know, what makes a dish delicious is the harmony of its ingredients — the same goes for creative work.
It wasn’t an easy journey getting to where I am now. My family wasn’t wealthy, and honestly, I never started doing this for the money. The main reason I’ve made it this far is because I never gave up on the things that bring me joy — and this work brings me a lot of joy.
Being able to show people something they can enjoy, to share a vision or an idea we connect on — that, to me, is one of the most rewarding feelings there is.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
live in Antalya — one of the most beautiful cities in Turkey.
Ideally, we’d start the day on a remote, secluded beach where there’s no one else around. We’d bring along a simple breakfast, enjoy it there, take a dip in the sea, and maybe even take a nap under the sun. Later in the day, we’d head into one of the city’s scenic spots for a coffee or a beer, ending the day with good conversation.
Despite my calm and peaceful nature, I’m also deeply passionate about extreme sports. I love rock climbing, summer and winter summit hikes, snowboarding, and paragliding.
I guess it all depends on the mood of the moment and the conditions — I like to go with the flow.
Side note: I really don’t like chaos.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Absolutely. Before I started creating 3D videos, I had reached out to an Instagram account I admired and followed — @ozanozcelik. He kindly replied to my questions without any ego and encouraged my enthusiasm for this field. Thanks to him, I stayed motivated and didn’t give up when things got tough. He even later sent me a paid project opportunity, which meant a lot to me. 😊
