They say life isn’t about the things that happen to you, but about the decisions you make. There’s a ton of coverage about the best decisions people have made, but not nearly enough conversation about the tough decisions. We asked folks we admire to tell us about the most difficult decision they’ve ever had to make and have shared some of those responses below.

I have recently made the decision to pull back on the quantity of weddings I will photograph each year after this wild year of 2021. Most vendors were swamped with double if not triple the normal bookings and it opened my eyes. The year flew by, I missed important moments, I let my own life pass me by, and I had no time to give true individualized support to each and every client. It is a difficult decision to choose quality over quantity but one I believe to be so important. I am transforming my experience so that I provide an extremely individualized experience. I am also coming back to myself in that choice. I will have more time to have my own experiences and live my own life so that I can be greater inspired to create really unique work for my clients.
