Perspectives on Success

Success. It’s something we dress for, strive for, work towards. We wish it upon others as well as ourselves, but what is it? What is success?
Professional success is doing work that feels like fun to me, provides exceptional value to clients, and pays well. It’s thinking things through before a project, so I can anticipate everything I need to create an effective product for my client. The biggest metric of success is leaving a client feeling like they got more than they paid for. In general, success is about reaching goals and putting good quality work out into the world. I feel most successful when I produce work that I know was genuine with sufficient time and thought invested. Even though monetary gain and acknowledgement are helpful and sometimes necessary, I feel true success has more to do with the perseverance and investment you have in your goals. Read more>>
As I continue to gain life experiences, my perspective on how I should live changes as well as how I define success. At this very moment, success to me means a full life. A life not only containing a career that I am proud of, but a life filled with loved ones, mental and physical health, self fulfillment, etc. It has become about the balance of it all and filling those aspects in my life that I deem valuable.
