We had the good fortune of connecting with Pili Aguado and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Pili, what role has risk played in your life or career?
Risk is something that is present in your daily life when you are dedicated to a creative work. Any new project always has a high probability of failure and it is something we must assume from the beginning. You have to learn to live with it and assume it as a part of your routine without it discouraging you
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I studied Fine Arts at university and years later I started to work as a professional illustrator. It was not an easy path but each new stage has been an apprenticeship for me. I try to make my work consistent with my values and ideas and I would like it to be understood that way.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I live in a small town in the Basque Country in northern Spain. It is surrounded by mountains and close to the sea. Without a doubt the best option would be to walk through its forests and mountains. And of course, to go to the typical restaurants that serve home-made food.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
To all those creative women who thanks to their drawings, their books, their songs etc. we are able to know the stories and experiences of other women.
