Perspectives on Risk-Taking

There is a wealth of academic research that suggests that differences in risk appetite are at the heart of differences in career and business trajectories. We wanted to go beyond the theory and ask real people from the community about their perspectives and experiences with risk and risk taking.
For me, the ventures that carry the most risk, are ones that I haven’t experienced before. Launching a new type of product, a new brand, or even working with a new action photographer, all carry risk and likelihood of success is difficult to gauge without a point of reference. Read more>>

As a control freak, I have a problem with taking risks! I believe it has slowed down my progression in art. Fortunately, fluid art forces me to let go of control and that has helped me quite a bit. In my mind, risk and passion are closely related. If you want to be excited about getting out of bed in the morning to work, you have to be willing to take risks.
