Meet Missy Anderson-Fritch | Licensed Massage Therapist, Barefoot Massage Therapist, Massage Educator

We had the good fortune of connecting with Missy Anderson-Fritch and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Missy, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking
Making the choice to start my own business, to be self-employed was a risk. It isn’t always an easy journey. And I knew this when choosing to step onto the entrepreneurial path. You aren’t guaranteed success or even a profit, however, the benefits from taking that risk on my skills, my passion, and my willingness to learn & grow are immeasurable. There have been a few times in my life when I’ve taken big risks and had to accept the good and not-so-good effects that have taught me so much about myself. What I am capable of doing, learning, and taking responsibility for, has a direct correlation with my choices to take intentional risks in several areas of my life. That willingness to risk pushing myself has brought me to teach Barefoot Massage for the Center for Barefoot Massage, and I couldn’t be happier with this new part of my career. I love sharing my expertise and passion for this technique. I absolutely would not be here in this place without risk.
What should our readers know about your business?
What got me where I am, is passion & pure tenacity. I started my business as a woman with two small children at the beginning of a long hard divorce while starting college for the first time at 32 years old. LOL Knowing when to push forward and when to allow, has been both a greater lesson and my most useful skill in reaching this place of my success, my life, and continuing to balance all the aspects of that. I am so excited to be reaching a new level of success, learning, and now teaching. I truly love what I do. That is because of a lot of dedication, passion, and some luck.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Oh my… I get the privilege of living in the most beautiful central area of California. We are anywhere from a few minutes to a few hours from gorgeous beaches, mountains, and cities. San Luis Obispo is located between Los Angeles & San Francisco. Here on the central coast, we are approximately two hours from Santa Barbara & Big Sur. We have incredible local; restaurants, wineries, breweries, hiking, SUP, lakes, concert venues, beaches, wildlife, flora & fauna. I would probably pick a little bit of everything. Beach day or Hiking one of my favorite trails with my dog.
Night out or a concert at Avila Beach or Vina Robles.
Wine or microbrew tasting.
Dinner at The Range in Santa Margarita (a local gem).
A night chatting outside by a fire.
A self-care day with a Massage from me at BareFoot BodyWorks SLO, and a float session at Central Coast Floats, a meal at one of our healthy food spots.
A day road trip up Highway 1 to Big Sur.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I am so incredibly blessed to have some beautiful souls in my life with the many circles I am involved with. My friends & family have always believed in me and given me enormous amounts of love & support. I have the best, yes… THE BEST Clients of all time, who have been instrumental in my growth & success. A good number of my clients are other Massage Professionals, that alone is so special and really inspires me to continue to grow and learn. And then there’s the Barefoot/Ashiatsu community! Having new opportunities to expand my technique and continue to learn within my specialty is priceless. A huge thank you to the Center for Barefoot Massage for leveling up the Barefoot Massage technique & industry. And an even bigger thanks to Jeni at CBM for seeing my Barefoot Massage skills and capacity for sharing my passion as an Instructor. Stepping into teaching this technique has created multiple ways for me to take my practice up to levels I didn’t know I could. My passion for Barefoot Massage & teaching Barefoot Massage just keeps deepening.
