Most of the media often paints all businesses with a single stroke, but in our experience businesses are each unique and so many of them are focused on making the world a better place. We’ve highlighted a few such gems below.

Ashley Barton | Entrepreneur & Educator

My business ReadHer is a subscription book box that brings those real Black love stories to readers; both avid and new. And we’re important because we’re providing a service to women that brings them joy and celebrates Black stories. Most importantly our social and community impact is bringing real Black stories to the world. One of the many challenging factors that the Black community experiences is invisibility. Yes, you see us in sports teams or entertainment artists, but what about in our everyday lives? How we live, love, and experience the world is often overlooked. Janeal Ford | President and Chief Fundraiser

This meal prep business has given me such an incredible space to spread awareness of causes that I care deeply about while raising funds for local nonprofits and individuals directly.

It started off with matching each order with a donated meal back to families impacted by the pandemic throughout Los Angeles County. After a few months, it evolved into setting aside $2 from every order to organizations that provide social services for immigrants and survivors of domestic violence, GoFundMe’s for victims of recent AAPI hate crimes, as well as to the families of those who have lost their lives to police brutality.

Since January 2021, we have donated over 300 nourishing meals and over $400 in hopes to bring love, hope, and healing to our world.

Fordable Fundraising helps the community by supporting nonprofit leaders in their quest to raise more money for their charitable missions. Nonprofit teams are working on solutions to the most challenging issues of our day and are in a constant battle to raise money. Our company provides leaders the boost they need to help them grow their fundraising income long term. For example, I worked with one newly hired Chief Executive Officer, who knew she needed help learning how to fundraise. She had many years of experience on the program side but hadn’t yet been directly responsible for fundraising. She needed help and leaned on us for guidance. Not only did we help with the grants, we supported and encouraged her each time she took steps to meet with current and prospective supporters. She is now a complete pro and her efforts have really paid off. Last year, her organization exceeded their fundraising goal by 30%. She recently shared a lovely card with me she had received from a prominent philanthropist. Read more>>
