Meet Yossi Stein | Chiropractor & Owner, Stein Chiropractic (Clairemont, San Diego)

We had the good fortune of connecting with Yossi Stein and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Yossi, how does your business help the community?
I opened Stein Chiropractic for a simple reason: make quality chiropractic care easy to access in Clairemont. Most people don’t need a complicated program—they need someone who listens, finds what isn’t moving well, and helps them get back to work, parenting, training, and sleeping without pain stealing their focus.
Our impact shows up in everyday wins: a desk worker who finishes a meeting without burning neck pain; a parent who can lift a car seat; a runner who finishes a 5K without their hip flaring. When those change, people show up better for their families, jobs, and teams—and that lifts a neighborhood.
We keep friction low with walk-in friendly care and clear, step-by-step plans. I teach simple mobility and posture habits so patients keep their progress between visits. No hype—just consistent care, honest communication, and respect for people’s time.
Healthier people make a healthier community. If we can help someone move well enough to work, play, and sleep better, that’s real impact—and it’s why I love doing this in San Diego.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I own and run Stein Chiropractic, a neighborhood clinic in Clairemont, San Diego. We’re a second-generation practice—my father, Dr. Richard Stein, opened the doors in 1991—and I work every day to carry that standard forward. What sets us apart is craft and clarity: careful assessment, precise adjustments, and a couple of simple take-home drills so progress sticks. It’s straightforward care that respects people’s time and helps them move through real life—work, family, training, sleep—with less friction.
Getting here wasn’t effortless. Building any small business means early mornings, quiet seasons, and learning the business side while serving patients well. I kept showing up, kept things plainspoken, and treated every visit like my reputation depended on it. Word of mouth followed. The moments I’m proudest of aren’t flashy: walking the dog without guarding, standing through a kid’s game comfortably, getting back in the water after a tweak. Those wins add up in a household.
A few lessons so far
Be plainspoken and specific; people do better with clear next steps.
Tiny, repeatable habits outlast heroic spurts.
Make space to hear the whole story—listening solves half the problem.
Share the work with other pros when that’s best for the patient.
Say exactly what you can help with—and what you can’t.
What I want people to know about our story: we’re a local, craft-driven clinic built on trust, kindness, and results you can keep. You’re not a case file—you’re a neighbor. My goal is simple: help you move well enough to do what matters, and keep it that way.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If a friend was here for a week, we’d keep it simple and a little bit outdoorsy. One morning hiking La Jolla, another at Iron Mountain for a nice view. If the ocean cooperates, we’d grab a mellow surf at Sunset Cliffs or Scripps, and if it’s clear, snorkel the La Jolla Cove.
Golf would be casual—hit a bucket at the range at Tecolote or the Mission Bay range. Food is straightforward: Rigoberto’s in La Jolla or Primo’s Mexican Food in UC; after a hike, a Jamba Juice smoothie. We’d also make time for synagogue one evening if they came to visit through the weekend—sharing a service with kind people is part of what makes San Diego feel like home.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
First, my father, Dr. Richard Stein. He practiced chiropractic for 33 years and was the best chiropractor I’ve ever seen—the standard I measure myself against. He never pushed me into the field; he simply believed in me long before I became a chiropractor. He opened his notes and his schedule to me, taught me his methods, and told me to change anything that didn’t fit my hands. Most of what I do well comes from that mix of trust, craft, and freedom.
I’m also grateful for my wife, who reminds me to build a life, not just a clinic; my family, who taught me to work hard and treat people right; and my patients, who are my best teachers—listening to them has shaped how I practice more than any course. Thank you to the local coaches, trainers, and small-business owners who send folks our way and collaborate without ego, and to the mentors across chiropractic and rehab who challenge my thinking and keep me evidence-minded. And finally, to the Clairemont community in San Diego for trusting me with your care. Any win in our office belongs to all of you—I just get to be the chiropractor in the room.
