We had the good fortune of connecting with Veronica Quirino and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Veronica, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking.
Risk taking plays a huge part within my career. It’s actually one of my favorite parts. I take a risk in every aspect within my business. From taking a risk on what clothes to sell to opening up my own storefront. It’s always a gamble and I love it. Sometimes, it’s a failure, but I learn from it. Sometimes it’s a success! The success is what motivates to keep taking risks!

What should our readers know about your business?
There is not many locations that sell festival clothing in San Diego. A lot of my items are very hard to find and are at a reasonable price.

Opening up my own storefront took me 4 years. I worked every weekend at the swapmeet. I even worked up until 2 weeks before labor and 1 month postpartum. I’m a single mom, so I would bring my baby with me to the markets. It was very challenging.

I learned a lot through my business. I learned that with hard work, sacrifice and consistency, you can accomplish anything you put your mind to.

I appreciate my clients so much. They give me unconditional love and support. Many of my customers have turned into my friends. Without them, I wouldn’t be where I am right now.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Ocean Beach! I love hanging around by the beach. The vibe and energy in ocean beach is unmatched. You can shop, eat, swim. It’s the best!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My mom and dad play a huge role in my life. They own businesses also. They gave me a lot of tips on how to run a successful business. They work very hard everyday and it motivates me. They push me to be the best version of myself. The other person who motivates me is my son. He reminds me everyday why I need to work hard and keep going.
