We had the good fortune of connecting with Veronica Carrillo and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Veronica, can you share the most important lesson you’ve learned over the course of your career?
The most important lesson I have learned is perseverance. Just like in life , when you start a business, you’re all excited and ready to share with the world your service or product. However, you must be prepared to the ups and downs of an entrepreneurial adventure. Most the time things don’t work out as you imagined and you have to be ready to tweak things, or to make complete changes. Be faithful that this time they will work out. To persevere making your dream a reality.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I love to create unforgettable moments by combining mainly 3 factors; nature, wine and friends. I believe Tasting and learning about wine connects us to Mother Earth, it connects to ourselves to our senses and connect us to others through conversation and time spent together. I immensely enjoy working in the hospitality industry, serving and connecting with people , but mainly creating a special experience for them by organizing a Wine Getaway or a Wine Tasting event. Through All About Wine Tasting I want people to remind themselves to take time off, travel to a vineyard or tasting room, take in the views, savor the wine sip by sip, slowly, giving the wine the opportunity to speak to them and to begin meaningful conversations that feed their soul. This time gives them the chance to recharge, relax and enjoy life.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I would definitely take her to visit the more than 100 wineries we have in San Diego county in Ramona, Jamul, Julian, Escondido. Well to some of them 😊! A hike at Torrey Pines Reserve is a must. Love the ocean views ! A would take on a drive on 101 highway from La Jolla to Oceanside. A visit to Coronado to intake the view of San Diego Bay as you drive over the bridge and a visit to Hotel Del Coronado. A ride on a sailboat in Mission Bay!
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
There are several women that have been pivotal with their emotional and professional support for me. First, I would like to thank Sarah Lopez from Freshly Prepped for inviting me to her space offering Baja Wine Tastings to her community. Barbie Nava for her strong emotional support and Sara Clark Williams from Fab Fempreneurs for believing in business and for coaching me in all the analytical side of the business.
