Meet Ty Nolte | Makeup Artist/Creative

We had the good fortune of connecting with Ty Nolte and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Ty, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
When I first started my business, my main goal was to make people smile, I just loved to see the reactions on their faces after a complete transformation, but it’s more than that. I began to enjoy meeting new people, sharing experiences/ideas, educating people on techniques and so much more. I started my business with just one simple idea and it blossomed into something greater!

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I’m a makeup artist. A creative. And I love what I do! A way to express myself and share it with others and on others! I didn’t think having a passion for makeup would take me as far as it has, and I’m still discovering more about it each day! The thing I’m most proud of with my artistry is my growth! I have came a long way. From first doing looks on myself, to then clients, to Photoshoots, & magazine publications it’s all really surreal. If only I would’ve known that sitting down for hours doing creative looks on myself, using crazy colors & shapes and wearing looks nobody dare wear outside would pay off the way it did! I’m so glad that I stayed true to myself, and stayed original! I’ve learned so many lessons along the way but the biggest lesson I would say would be to “Stay Focused” keep your eye on your goal and your dream ahead. So many people and things can easily become a distraction but the goal is to just stay focused. I want the world to know that my brand and my story come from a place of passion, I love what I do and I am grateful for every opportunity, and i believe that it shows through my artistry.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I would love to take my bestfriend out to the beaches and have brunch on the beach, maybe take some roller skates and skate by the sand. My favorite place to visit is Balboa park, I love the botanical garden. When In town tacos are a must.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would love to give a special shout out to my boyfriend actually for being my number 1 support system. He has watched me break down and he’s helped pick me back up. He’s believed in me from the very beginning even when I didn’t believe in myself. He helped me to break out of my shell more and for that I’m grateful. He’s uplifted me and gave me words of encouragement since I started my business/brand, he gives me feedback and helps my brand grow. I couldn’t not have gotten this far without him!
