We had the good fortune of connecting with Tori Williams and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Tori, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
When I started Soulful Media Marketing I wanted to bring my passion for marketing and my spiritual nature together as one. I thought about helping other small business owners who have products or services that will make a difference in someone’s life. We all have our own special talents and gifts, I want to highlight that by creating stories around their passion. Being able to bring to life a vision and idea is the reward I seek from doing the work of Soulful Media.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Soulful Media Marketing, founded 2019, was created to provide valuable media to the masses that is beneficial to the soul. We provide an avenue to advertise successfully online that connects with the core of the people buying specific products or services. We believe helping you tell your story in your own unique way will attract the right tribe to support and help your business grow.
I am most proud of myself for not letting doubt and fear stop me from starting my business in 2019. Without having anyone in my family that started a business or knew anything about business, I was very discouraged and wasn’t sure if it was something for me. My faith and visions God showed me allowed me to take the leap..and what do you know, I’m still flying! It has not been easy at all figuring everything out on my own. I have met a lot of mentors (mostly virtual) to show me the ropes of starting a business and becoming a entrepreneur.
I’ve learned to be VERY resourceful when it comes to getting information and tools that is needed for my business. My mom always told me, “Closed mouths don’t get fed!” Which means if you do not ask for what you need, you will stay in the same place you are. I’ve also learned to always be in a student position and learn as I grow through the process of entrepreneurship.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I’m still a tourist myself in San Diego so I love finding new places to explore! A few of my favorite spots are Liberty Station, Mission Beach and Mission Bay, and a cool speakeasy called False Idol.
