Meet Terrence Haywood Jr | Father & Business Owner/Entrepreneur

We had the good fortune of connecting with Terrence Haywood Jr and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Terrence, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
My thought process to start my own business was to have more freedom of my own time to be able to be the best father I could be to my son. As well as being able to take my son to work with me. Being able to teach my son attention to detail and great work ethic. Secondly being able to do something I love & have an outstanding passion for as a car enthusiast.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
My business Marathon Auto Detailing is a family owned and operated mobile vehicle cleaning company. We service 2 counties Los Angeles & Kern County areas. What sets us apart from other detailing business is we treat every clients vehicle as our own. We deliver premium service at an economical price. I am most proud of our growth within the 3 years we have been open and operating. We are steadily growing and gaining new clients. I am excited for the future of our business, company and brand. On this journey of starting the business and company it was not easy. The beginning is always the hardest. It was discouraging at first. But I keep pushing to break through all the obstacles and challenges that came. When the challenges and obstacles came I had to keep a level head and find solutions. Along the way I learned in business you will hear 1000 no’s before you here a yes. Business is not for the faint of heart. You have to be willing to take risks and learn from the lessons that come with it. I would like the world to know “Detailing is A Marathon, Let Us Run A Lap”.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If my best friend was visiting for a week. Places to eat we would go to breakfast at CiCi’s Cafe in Tarzana. Since it’s always hot in SoCal, we would hit the beach Paradise Cove for lunch and beach day fun to hang out. For late night fun to get some drinks we would go to Tipsy Cow. Has good food and drinks. To end it off we would hit the Cars & Coffee car shows on Sunday. SoCal has so many sites to see and places to try. Very hard to choose certain ones. There is all sorts of entertaining things to do and plenty of foods to try from all cultures.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would love to give a Shoutout to my son Julian first. He is my biggest inspiration, motivation & drive to hustle harder everyday. Secondly my dad, close circle of friends that continue to show me love & support. Lastly my favorite mentor since 2009 through his music, interviews and spoken word Nipsey Hussle! He gave me a different outlook on how the world views myself. To never quit and run my Marathon.
