We had the good fortune of connecting with Tammy Rydahl and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Tammy, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
My thought process behind starting my own business was one of complete faith! This endeavor has been a complete leap of faith for me. After having been involved in a family business for many years, I had always thought there was no way I ever wantedto run my own business. Then, my company, simple happened! I have always had a knack for organizing and design. I have worked full time for a local design firm for over 10 years. Organizing was born out of need by clients we had at the firm. Then enter the trend of everyone hopping on the organizing train and 3 years later here I am, running my own business! Wouldn’t have it any other way now. You could say my leap of faith was a great choice for me!

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
My business, simple, specializes in organizing spaces with an eye for design! Spaces are curated with attention to detail and function which is personlaized to every client and their specific style. This unique combination of design and organization is what sets us apart from other organizers in my opinion. This comes from a passion I have for both. In my eyes the two just go together naturally. Over the past 3 years I have been organizing on the side while working full time as a studio buyer. It has not been an easy road, many long days with a lot of working hours but it has paid off and I am now transitioning into running my business full time. I feel extremely proud that I was able to pull it off! I have organized many spaces over the past 3 years and have met so many wonderful people. My single favorite aspect of this work is meeting fabulous people.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If my bestie was visiting for a week these are the spots we would check out! -Taco Stand in La Jolla for lunch -Lots of beach time – fave beach Coronado -Runs from Fanuel Park -Shopping @ UTC -Mani/Pedi’s at Cur Bar Del Sur -Dinner @ North One Paseo -SUP on Mission Bay -Sugar Factory Downtown -Hikes – Torrey Pines and Potato Chip Rock

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
The person I would like to recognize as instrumental in my business is Tracy Lynn of Tracy Lynn Studio. I have been with her firm for over 10 years in many roles, the most recent being a studio buyer. When studio clients asked if we offered organizing services, Tracy recognized that I could be a great fit for such a service. I happily excepted the role and ran with it. I am grateful for Tracy’s encouragement, love and support. She has been a very great source of inspiration to me! I adore her and thank her from the bottom of my heart for believing in me and helping me believe in myself at times. She has and continues to be my go to business mentor!
