We had the good fortune of connecting with T-Chronic and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi T-Chronic, can you share a quote or affirmation with us?
I do actually! A few years ago I was in the studio alone just diving into some musical ideas, then decided to pause and take a moment to sit on the floor and meditate. But this meditation was different. Rather than sitting in silence solely focused on my breath, I closed my eyes and spoke out loud in this empty room. I vented issues I was stressing about, things I wanted to personally improve on, and described the energy I wanted to release from my being. Following that, I then expressed all that I grateful for, what brings me joy and how blessed I truly am. After each sentence I spoke, I would say the words “Only Light” in a powerful, confident tone of voice. Again and again after each sentence of expression, I would say those words repeatedly. The repetition of “Only Light” provoked a deep sense of euphoria, grounding and divine power within me. The more I said these words with wholesomeness, the more weight and power they held. Ever since that day, “Only light” has been my personal mantra, especially with that experience attached to those words. In fact, it is now a song title of mine!

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Although I bought a guitar at a very young age, I really began taking it seriously in 6th grade. In 8th grade I found a rhyme book in my teacher’s classroom, which sparked my passion for creative writing. I was seeing words in that book that I never even thought could rhyme or rather flow together. For example I remember seeing the words blue jay, suitcase, shoelace, toothpaste. The simple observation of the compound syllable, near sounding rhyme instantly intrigued me to furthermore explore this book. This experience soon ignited a fire of passion and love for Hip-Hop. I began saturating myself in the craft and culture of many great artists who came before me. I feel my versatility is what sets me apart. my logic is versatile, the more people I can appeal to musically. The more people I captivate, the more people I can gravitate together in unity with my message in the music. I enjoy adding guitar solos on my rap tracks and I think it’s also rad to add my rap style to my Reggae songs. I’m constantly learning more and adding more paint to my musical canvas. I’m really looking forward to going on tour this year. It’s not announce yet. So I’m revealing a little secret! August 15th I will be leaving on the “Perseverance Tour,” playing shows in AZ, NV, ID, OR, WA, and CA. My fist tour back in 2020 got cut in half due to Covid. My tour last year fell through because the transmission in my van completely gave out. That is why I call this tour the Perseverance Tour! Despite these struggles and let-downs, I remain relentless and focused with tunnel vision on my goals. I have learned that relationships and connections are very important, never give up no matter what, and always stay open minded to new possibilities. In other words, don’t cut yourself short. Keep growing! I want the world to know that everything is connected and we are a part of a way bigger picture. We are all different flavor slices of the same pie. Life on this planet is so temporary, soak in this experience with love and gratitude.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
First we would go to 1502 in Ocean Beach for them spicy garlic wings no doubt! Activities like surfing, hiking, and enjoying live music would all be included on our endeavor. I know of a peaceful spot with an amazing view that is well above the sunset cliffs parking lot and overlooks cliffs with nothing but an open view of the horizon. Bring a guitar and a six pack, always a chill vibe.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would like to give a big thank you to my family! Throughout my musical journey ever since a kid, my parents have always been there for me. Driving me back n’ fourth to music classes all the time, constantly providing insight, words of encouragement and overall just showing infinite love and support towards me and my drive to accomplish my goals. I want to shout out my My sisters Morgyn, Valencia and Carlie who have always believed in me and never fail to be an open ear when I need one. I am so grateful to have such a loving family who wants nothing more than to see me pursue my dreams and live a happy life.
