We had the good fortune of connecting with Steve Torres and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Steve, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
My thought process was working for myself and not for somebody else,
Even though I knew it wasn’t gonna be easy, I knew it would be worth it, so I was willing to do whatever it takes to grow my business.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
The difference about me, I love to give my clients the best experience they could get from a photographer, also with a quick turn around time with their photos.
What makes me so proud of myself is seeing my improvements I been doing and also seeing my clients reactions when they see their photos.
Where I’m at today is by failing often and learning from them, I never let one bad photo put me down, instead I kept photographing daily and learning something new.
I want the world to know that it doesn’t matter what camera you start off with, you don’t need the most expensive or a certain brand of camera. You can make a creative photo with what you got.
You don’t have to be like a certain photographer. You have your own style. Keep staying creative.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
In the beautiful city of San Diego, of course you gotta go the beach, Belmont park would be my favorite, since I have kids there’s more activities to do besides the beach.
Also visiting petco Park to watch a padres game,
For food gotta go down south and have some tacos.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Would definitely love to shout out my amazing wife Laura Torres for always believing in me and being by my side through this journey, and also for being my partner in every photoshoot I get booked to do,
Would also love to shout out my good friend that is like a brother to me, Chal Corcoran for also believing in me and supporting me through my journey.
I am also inspired by photographers, Courtney Hendo, Katherine Pina, and Aaron Hall.
These photographers have showed me so much and also inspired me to keep pushing.
