Meet Stephanie Vega | Crafter from Cups to Totes and so much more

We had the good fortune of connecting with Stephanie Vega and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Stephanie, what inspires you?
As a mom my kids inspire me everyday. When I look for stuff for my business the first question I ask myself is; can it handle my teenager, preteen or toddler. This completely includes my glass cups as well. Also, when it comes to designing my cups, totes, etc they are always giving me awesome ideas to work with.
Something else that inspires me are the people I care about. If it is family or friends or an event that impacted me, I am always designing and creating what touches my heart. It makes me so happy to see people smile when they see something I made and it brings up a core memory. It just really makes everything I do worth it.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I absolutely love making cups. I love making custom designs and bringing them into life. That even includes someone bringing me their child’s artwork and making it into a cup or tote bags or even stickers. The imagination is really the limits.
I have been a creative person my life my whole life and after having my daughter I wanted took on making everything myself for her birthdays, etc. It was so much fun bringing my daughter’s imagination to life. A lot of people loved what I made and over the years her birthdays became a big deal for her friends and family. Over time I started making things for family and friends for their gifts and parties and so on. It started to spread but a few years ago I became pregnant with my son and it was an extremely hard time before and after my pregnancy. I had to shut things down completely and I was heart broken. After my son turned 1 people started reaching out asking if I’m creating again. I posted my son’s birthday party and people saw my creative side again. My fiancé and I talked about me coming back and opening back up. We talked about it and started with a market and posting it.
That is how it I opened back up and now absolutely love the market life. I started making stuff that make me happy and touch my heart. I love how a cup, puzzle, cutting board, tote bag, bookmarks etc can’t ignite a positive core memory. The moment that someone starts walking past my booth and a glass cup in a wave of different designs catches someone’s eye and the smile ear to ear. They walk over pick it up and some even tell me their memories and it just makes me so happy. My daughter or fiancé are with me usually as my second at markets when I am not on my own. With that being said my daughter standing there actively listening and sharing stories over a cup. Omg the best moment ever. My fiancé being my backbone. We are a family that work together. My daughter also helps make these ideas come to life and creating our pop up market look; building and breaking down. My fiancé is my left hand moving things around, having my back for all the crazy and so much.
My everyday job is working in Hospice and elderly care; so seeing all these smiles over something I make helps during the sadness of being around people loosing people all the time. One of my favorite thing I made was a puzzle of someone’s grandparents the day the met for her grandma because her grandpa had passed. I just want with my business to keep the positive core memories alive.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
We are waking up and heading to Snooze for breakfast hands down. I am definitely having the OMG French toast. Yum. We are heading to to Carrillo National Park to check out the tides pools. You can check out whales swimming by or dolphins. During October the tide is so far back you can explore so much. For lunch we are finding a farmers market or pop up because food trucks have amazing food. Afterwards we can walk around the the zoo or safari park. It is just so much fun. Dinner is at HBrothers in Escondido is one of my favorites for dinner, great service and awesome food.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I want to dedicate my shoutout to my family. Fred my love, best friend and support system. Thank you so much for always being there and helping with my great ideas. Lol. My Kids… Skyleen my love, my first baby, Noa my bonus baby and my Jameson my little little; you guys are my everything to me. My family and friends that have been there and support me, but especially to the ones who show up. Thank you to everyone I treasure completely.
