We had the good fortune of connecting with Sophia Bengel and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Sophia, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
The thought process behind starting my business was to create beautiful flower arrangements that no one has seen. I have seen many different styles on instagram and Pinterest so my creativity started from there.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
When I was first starting out I didn’t really have a lot of experience in the industry. I mainly relied on pictures and started creating flower arrangements from there. It was definitely easy at all. There was a lot of things that I needed to learn. I leaned as I went and to be honest I think that’s the best route especially if you don’t know where to begin. My main accomplishment would be to be a recognized brand in the flower business and to continue to grow my business.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
San Diego is full of many amazing spots to see. There is Always something new and exciting to explore. The amazing part of living so close to Tijuana is also a plus. Since I love wine clink-clink I would highly recommend a weekend getaway to Valle de Guadalupe in Ensenada Mexico.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
The person who I admire in the flower arrangement industry is Jeff Leatham. I have been following him since the day I started. All of his work is drop dead gorgeous. He inspires me to be more creative and to think outside the box.
