We had the good fortune of connecting with Sonia Aroso and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Sonia, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
It started by realizing my potential, ideas, talent and experience. I didn’t want to give my time and ideas to another brand, when I could perfectly do it by myself and start building something of my own. Also the support from the people I love, is part of the biggest ingredient.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Every dress I made is a new project with their own special characteristics and challenges. The most important lesson is to challenge yourself every time, keep yourself improving in all the areas of your life, giving yourself time to breath, is also a great chance to channel your inner muse. To never ever give up, always listen for advice from your love ones, they truly want the best for you. So just hear their words before taking a big decision. Sometimes the things don’t go as the way you wanted, but really just relax. As the time passes you realized that life plans are always better than yours.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I’ll just take her to a road trip to Baja. First coffee from my favorite coffee shop to enjoy the road with a hot coffee and good music. Stop for a delicious croque madame, and continue the road trip to ensenada. Stop at a winery and bought a bottle, and just hang out talking and enjoying the view of the countryside. Have delicious 4 course meal from ReServed Dining at Valle de Guadalupe. Have a little bonfire with friends while the sun sets out of our sight. Usually I don’t make itineraries, or plans I just go with the wind, wherever I want to go. And I truly love that about myself.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I give all my credit to my loved ones… My family: to the values and loving education they give me. My boyfriend: to supporting me in everything he could. My friends: from encouraging my talent, and giving their time and talent to promote me.
They’re amazing, without their support I think I wouldn’t take the leap. I’ll be forever beyond grateful for having them in my life.
