We had the good fortune of connecting with Ruben Arcega and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Ruben, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
My thought process was building a company for my family and also being my own boss managing my own clients and members that walked into my doors.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Fitnetic Fitness was established in 2020 during the Lockdown. I’ve been a personal trainer for over 13years and when the world shutdown a lot of my clients asked me what I was going to do. That’s when I started Fitnetic Fitness I seen the opportunity to actually be my own boss and to run a business at my house.

I demo my garage and my backyard to a private studio where all my personal clients and members can come to workout.

This wasn’t an easy process all of my savings and earning went into my business and in the beginning it was very scary cause I didn’t have any backing no credit cards nothing, all i had was $100 to my name and hoped that Fitnetic Fitness was going to be Successful.

I didn’t go to Business School so learning what I know now is because of my private clients teaching me step by step I am lucky to have such great people in my life to show me the business side of things.

We are Growing and I hope one day I’ll be able to open up Fitnetic Fitness Gyms all around the world to be able to impact people to make better choices in their life through Fitness and Health.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
First off here in San Diego there isn’t really any bad spots to take anyone who is visiting but if my friends were to come i would take them out to eat in Old Town at my favorite spot Casa Del Reyes where there is live music great people can’t go wrong with some margaritas, after take them to Sea Port Village to enjoy the shops and downtown. Later we would go to Coronado island to finish up the day at Hotel Del Coronado and have a couple of drinks at the beach.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Big shout out to my wife April she is the one who has been there for me during this journey without her love and support I wouldn’t be here today. She makes sure our family is strong and good taking care of our twins and our new born. Also Shout out to all the people who stand behind me supporting me/Fitnetic Fitness if it wasn’t for my private clients and Members that come everyday and get after it I wouldn’t have Fitnetic Fitness or be who I am today. Last I can’t forget about all my neighbors who hear me run classes at 5:30am Mon-Fri thanks to them for not reporting me to the cops for loud noises in the morning and understand that we are all trying to make it happen one way or another.
