We had the good fortune of connecting with Raymeshia Williams and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Raymeshia, why did you pursue a creative career?
Since I was younger, I’ve always thrived in creative spaces. In middle school, my love for pretty things prompted me to fall in love with Art. My favorite subject by far, was VAPA. That’s also when i began to explore instruments and join dance groups.

In my transition to adulthood, my passions quickly became replaced with responsibilities. But, it wasn’t until Covid, August 2020 , that I had the actual time to nurture things that I naturally was good at. Staying inside granted me the opportunity to adopt hobbies and that’s when my admiration for all things fancy on the phalanges manifested. I haven’t stopped nurturing that side of me since.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
What sets me apart from others , is my passion for not only my craft, but my passion for women. I’ve worked in customer service based jobs all my life, and it helped me tremendously when transitioning into becoming a service provider. Being relatable and creating genuine connections is priceless and it came naturally. Being a mother gave me even more insight and relatability. I refer to myself as a pedi-therapist. With my biggest lesson being , the importance of making the filling of one’s own cup, a top priority.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
My vibe is more relaxed so , my recommendation would be starting the day off with some fuel from my favorite juice spot, Fuel Thy Cells. They have the most amazing Sea Moss juices and their vegan pastries are to die for. Then let’s drive to Coronado , to do a scenic bike ride and maybe stop at some of the boutiques for a little shopping, then ending the night downtown San Diego at King and Queen Cantina. From the margarita flight to the Tinga taquitos, it’s really chefs kiss.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
If I could shoutout anyone, it would honestly have to be my whole family. Without their support and belief in me, i wouldn’t have been able to complete school, while being a single mother and trying to jump start my craft from the ground up. They’ve made my journey just a bit easier and I can’t thank them enough, specifically my mother , Michelle White.
