We had the good fortune of connecting with Ray Moran and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Ray, can you talk to us a bit about the social impact of your business?
We’ve brought poké to the east county, an area where this food was virtually unexistent. There was a void, and we filled it. Poké can now be found in El Cajon at Stubborn Poke and Chips.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Chef-driven, California inspired poké. We fell in love with healthy food. Fresh healthy and delicious, poké takes all the best components of sushi and puts them in an easy to eat container.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
El Cajon, stop by and check out the scenes. There is plenty to be seen.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My wife and keeps me going day in and day out. Veronica Moran is one of the strongest women I’ve ever known.
