We had the good fortune of connecting with Phillyblunts and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi PHILLYBLUNTS, why did you pursue a creative career?
I grew up around music from being around my great grandmother and my mom. I loved to dance and even be apart of plays. I was in music classes in my younger years as well as drama class growing up which made me really like acting. When it came to group presentations I was always the one to talk for the group and enjoyed making the class laugh during our presentations. I loved being creative whether it was building things with my own hands like puzzles, household needs, and even model cars and planes. Creating music and videos was something I did with my sister growing up in the house and as I got older I took it to the next step, and we are here today.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I love the music I create. I must say it’s nothing like anyone else. My music is all about groovin and feeling positive in life. I’ve come a long way from where I started. Every year I get reminded that doing what you love is the best and most fulfilling thing in your life. It has not been an easy journey but I’ve learned to never give up on your goals and always believe in what you want. You need to know why you’re doing what you’re doing or you will get lost and start to think success is not happening to you because material things or awards aren’t presented to you. I simply want everyone in this world to be groovy and love the life they were given. I started this journey because I loved creating music so that’s why it works. I didn’t go down this journey because I saw dollar signs or wanted to look cool because in the end this would not have worked for me. Do you and keep on groovin.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I would take them to Las Hadas or Casa Nori for some food and the beach of course over in cornado or mission beach. For dessert maybe take a troll over to Ans Dry Cleaning. Simply cruise the city and drive around and see where the groove takes us.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would love to thank my mom, my great grandmother, my girlfriend Lizzy, my friend Richard for believing in me in the beginning. I also want to thank Hoff for helping me and being my friend, manager, photographer and videographer. I can’t forget to thank my fans and supporters who keep me going with their love and support of course. I need to thank God for blessing me and keeping me strong through every up and down in life. Lastly I want to shout out myself for being myself and sticking to my plan and never giving up no matter what challenges I face.
