We had the good fortune of connecting with Noel Torres Jr. and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Noel, Let’s talk about principles and values – what matters to you most?
Honesty. It’s not easy to admit you are wrong or messed something up. I believe it will take you further in the long run. Just be honest upfront, rather than bend the truth to save face for the time being.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
My first job was a tank mechanic in the Marine Corps. I had to work in unfavorable conditions with these iron beasts. It was always hot, dirty, and cramped for a taller guy like myself. Being in the military is probably what laid the groundwork for whatbi do now. After I served my term, I went to a trade school to learn about cars as they are more common on the road than a 70 ton machine. I worked on heavy duty semi trucks, then electric vehicles, and now just about every car you see on the road today. I have a very diverse background in mechanics, which i feel gives me a better understanding of multiple systems/fields, rather than just focusing on one area of expertise. I have learned alot throughout the years, but there is one lesson that stands out. You are going to make mistakes. It’s part of the learning process. I have had my share of mishaps and am better because of them. My goal is to make auto care more convenient and less of a burden. There are many people who can’t afford to take time away from work, school, or home. That’s where we come in. We can come directly to you and save you the hassle.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I don’t go out too much any more, but I would probably take them to the beach and then one of the many eateries in downtown.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I am still trying to do better, but there is a long list of family and friends that have helped me to where I am today.
