We had the good fortune of connecting with Michael Arellano and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Michael, why did you decide to pursue a creative path?
I have always been a creative. Since childhood I was driven to Create art, music and anything that gives me the freedom to design. From graphic design and photography to welding and metal fabrication.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
the Art of creation in itself is Devine. To create invokes drive and passions in others. Art has the ability to effect emotions and touch the soul. That’s what drives me create. To express myself and perspective of the world through my eyes in the hopes it may one day inspire others.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
You can always find me in nature. Living in Southern California we are blessed with beaches to the West, deserts to our East and gorgeous mountains in the middle. If a friend was visiting I would most likely take them riding in the desert, hiking in the mountains and chasing sunsets and drinks on the beach.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Platt College San Diego (digital media & design) was where I had my introduction to digital photography. I originally signed up for my AAS in Graphic Design but After my introduction to photography class I immediately knew Photography was Going to be my future career path.
