Meet Matt Geiss | Demolition Contractor and Junk Removal Company Owner

We had the good fortune of connecting with Matt Geiss and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Matt, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking.
I believe risk taking is essential for anyone who is looking to achieve something great, As the famous Nelson Mandala said: “I’ve found that nothing in life is worthwhile unless you take risks. Nothing. There is no passion to be found playing small—in settling for a life that’s less than the one you’re capable of living”. Some type of risk is essential for growth. The larger the growth, the potential the higher the risk. In my opinion, the reason so few people achieve greatness is they are afraid of taking risks and the consequences that come with them. People are creatures of habit, and like to feel safe and secure. Risk taking is the complete opposite of this logic. Risk taking in my life has been lifechanging. I have always had the mindset I will either make it, or loose everything. There is no in between and no other option. I will fight with everything I have to be successful and make it work. Some risks are more calculated than others. For example, when I left my corporate job to start my own junk removal and demolition company, that was a huge risk. I was leaving good steady pay on the table. Ultimately though, I wasn’t happy where I was, and I always wanted to be my own boss in control of my own destiny. If I wasn’t a risk taker, I would still be working my 9-5 job going with the flow in life. I would grow old and look back and wished I would have taken more risks to follow my passion and my dreams. The biggest risk in life is not taking risks. Take a risk on something you are passionate about and watch how this will transform your life.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I started my journey in the junk removal and demolition business with a simple goal: to help people reclaim their spaces and reduce the stress of clutter and construction debris. What sets me apart from others is my commitment to providing exceptional service with a personal touch. Being a family-owned and operated business, I take pride in treating every client like part of the family, offering not just labor but also trust, reliability, and peace of mind.
One of the things I’m most proud of is the relationships I’ve built with my clients. Their positive feedback and referrals drive my success and remind me why I started this business. I’m also excited about finding innovative ways to grow, whether through sustainable disposal practices or improving efficiency with new tools and techniques.
Getting to where I am today wasn’t easy. Starting a business came with challenges like building a client base from scratch, managing budgets, and navigating unexpected setbacks. However, I approached these obstacles with determination, learning from mistakes and staying open to advice from mentors and peers. The biggest lesson I’ve learned is that consistency and integrity build trust—and trust is the foundation of any successful business.
What I want the world to know about my brand and story is that we’re not just about removing junk; we’re about helping people move forward—whether that’s clearing a home for a fresh start, prepping a property for sale, or making a renovation smoother. At the heart of my business is a passion for serving others and making a meaningful impact in my community.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I’d like to dedicate my shoutout to my family, who have been my rock throughout my journey. Their encouragement and love have kept me grounded and motivated, even during the toughest times.
A big thank you to my clients, whose trust and support have been instrumental in building my business. Their referrals and positive feedback inspire me to keep delivering exceptional service.
Lastly, I want to credit books like “Cant Hurt Me” by David Goggin’s, which have helped shape my mindset and approach to achieving my goals. Success is never a solo journey, and I’m grateful to all those who have been part of mine.
