Meet Marion Renee Birdine | CEO/Owner/Founder of Skinvig LLC

We had the good fortune of connecting with Marion Renee Birdine and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Marion Renee, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
I was actually encouraged to bottle and sell my skincare products by my son’s specialist at the time he was diagnosed with Kawasaki disease. It was my son’s skincare needs and misdiagnoses previous to meeting his specialist, that were the true catalyst for my origin beginning though honestly I began my research long before becoming a mom. I have been solving my own skincare needs prior but sharing only with a limited few.
Skinvig was a long time coming into fruition. Only God knows the path we are to walk and He prepares our steps by laddling us in experiences which push us to our destiny.
This is just what I believe.

What should our readers know about your business?
My business…hmmm… to tell you more would be telling more about me. As I mentioned earlier my company began to share what I used to help my son’s skin heal. There are so many people around me suffering and just accepting it. I had to share an option for change. That’s really all I’m doing. There are so many brands with lots of promises attached that sound just like my brand. What I strive to be is open and honest with my clients and customers.
I also believe in education. When we know more we grow. It’s my goal to make a real positive change for the time I am here. I just want to give my best to those who put their trust in me for their selfcare solutions. I also strive to be a great listener. I want my clients to feel heard. I even offer 1-on-1 private consults to give more independent information regarding a solution to their issues.
To be honest, a lot times it comes down to, just what they have been eating or not eating.
The skin is the only organ outside of the body. I believe its our tell-tell in to what is happening on the insides of us. I really try to help people understand and learn to listen to their bodies.
This leads to asking, why are there are so many products in my collection? It’s because of just this reason .. not every formula is for every body. Everyone responds to hydration needs differently so i made different versions of excellent Hydrating skincare.
Has it been difficult? Not difficult as much as it’s been all consuming. You can’t half-ass knowledge or you can really hurt someone. I’m just not in this for that… im here to learn and to help whoever will accept it from me.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Ok! Alright! I have actually.thought about this question more recently lately as I have family who have plans to visit soon so what I’d like to do is to take them to some of the local and easy tourist spots of San Diego. Sea port village at sunset! A harbor cruise for dinner is a great way to show off what we love about San Diego. The beaches are just a no brainer and my absolute favorite chill beach is Coronado! I really love the vibe of Coronado especially on a hot summer’s evening. Ocean Beach so they can experience the fun of the local grunge of beach life! I like Encinitas beaches too!
Ok restaurants… well San Diego is kinda loaded with really good eat spots! From my experience we have the best Mexican food in the nation but I’m sure some will battle me on this! I like east village, Barrio Logan for it’s art scene and excellent vibes especially for being a business vendoring on the streets during the evening events in that area. I love art! My husband and I are both artists so we tend to gravitate to what holds our interest the most… it’s like talking what we know.
Man! We’ve got Little Italy, the Hillcrest scene, North Park, South Park, City Heights Saigon Restaurant gets a direct shout out for its delish Vietnamese food! And never forgetting the Kearney Mesa Asian cuisine and karaoke bars!
Yes! My city does require having transportation to get around seamlessly but you can usually find a good time no matter which of these locations you hang.
My tour would be mostly foodie based, with the culture seeking and sightseeing our really beautiful vistas! 😍

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Well I want to mention a few people who have been inspiration and encouragement to me in this journey.
First my husband of 22 years Kenneth Birdine who has not only been my partner but also my graphic team, soundboard and the muscle behind me ❤️. I remember wanting to quit and just walk away from it all Skinvig) but not just hearing but watching his body language say to me that if I quit this (Skinvig), that I was to never ask for another graphic design anything from him again! He meant it.
He teally loves the products and how they’ve helped our son and his issues.
I’d also like to mention Dr. JANE Burns, the Kawasaki specialist who very nonchalantly said, after listening to a list of ingredients I used to help my son’s ailing skin from the illness… “just bottle it! Whatever is in it, it worked! Good job mom!” Nothing like another trailblazer encouraging the another one coming! She had no idea what her simple sentence would do for me or mean to me and my family.
In addition I want to recognize Sallie K. Brown for her mentorship, encouragement and friendship! She gave me my jumping platfor. herbal research book! Yep, she helped me hit the ground running.❤️
Let’s not forget the little man that needed everything and remembers his skin issues of his toddler days who now knows that you can have something happen that’s bad but leads you to a greater good! He actually walked up to me and told me this much about a week ago. He’s not only experiencing the good Skinvig does for his skin and hair, he is also witnessing and testifying to others about Skinvig’s skin and haircare benefits too! What a great life lesson to be able to teach him and learn right alongside of him.
