We had the good fortune of connecting with Marie-Claude Linteau and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Marie-Claude, how do you think about risk?
Risk taking is at the core of my personal credo! From very early on in my life, the risks that I took propelled me forward and up to heights beyond my imagination, whether in the realm of relationships, family or business. I am in awe of this life, and taking risks is just another way to honor the time I have been given. This life is an amazing adventure! The risks taken are still based on an educated guess. There’s no need to rehash once you understand the pros and cons. Every time, I was rewarded for taking chances!
As I get older, it’s easy to just sit back and relax. However, there is a fine line between enjoying the fruits of your labor and becoming complacent. I must continue to challenge myself and grow to be the best I can be!
At the moment, I am expanding my business! Needless to say, there is a lot of risk taking involved. In this particular setting, the benefits are a bit slower to show but I know they are coming. This enterprise is an outward expression of my inner growth. If I stall, it stalls. I’m lucky to be an eternal autodidact and it pays off, especially now that I need to develop so many new skills!
I can’t wait to see what’s in store in the near future. Whatever it is, I will be ready to receive and pay it forward!
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
We are in the midst of a huge rebrand of our current HVAC business. Name, logo, colors, mascot, etc. In just another 3 weeks, we will be fully operating as Haven Air Conditioning, a Mighty Ducts company which was founded in 1997. The decision to rebrand was not taken lightly! Talk about taking risks! We needed our enterprise to reflect more clearly the individuals and entrepreneurs we have become through the years. And now that Julien (son) has joined the ranks of ownership, it was the perfect time to redefine ourselves: we are a home service company heavily focused on our clients experience with us. It became clear, while interacting with so many contractors and other trades, that we are just happy, caring and conscientious people through and through, and that it carries through to our customers.
Yes, rebranding is a tedious process (and expensive) but the rewards are plenty! We now have a guiding light in our values, objectives and culture. Our team members can always fall back on what’s important: growing, excelling and thriving!
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Depending on the people visiting, I might them to the Vedanta Society Monastery in Trabuco Canyon in the morning for a quiet, short hike, then Old Town Orange for a quaint afternoon. Almost everyone wants to go to the beach (our families are in Quebec and Germany, so the beach is THE local attraction for them). So Laguna Beach in the afternoon. And then dinner at Chaak in Old town Tustin for dinner.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My husband! Andreas Laux, the founder of Mighty Ducts and now, Haven Air Conditioning. He has a bold confidence and know how that comes from the ether, I think! He can do anything and does it to such high level of quality of uniqueness. He doesn’t stay a novice for very long. We’ve built this amazing business together and our forever home and I’m still in awe of his abilities and determination.
Above all, it’s his inner joy, faith and passion that makes him the most interesting man in the room! 😋 His laughter is contagious but he also commands respects from those around him. We are all blessed to have him with us!
