Hi Lolita, why did you decide to pursue a creative path?
I pursued a career as an esthetician because I’ve always been passionate about beauty and wellness. For me, helping others feel confident and radiant is incredibly fulfilling. The art of skincare allows me to combine my love for creativity with a desire to make a positive impact on people’s lives. I thoroughly enjoy the process of understanding individual needs and crafting personalized treatments that enhance natural beauty. Whether it’s through facials, waxing, or skincare education, I find excitement in the transformative journey that my clients experience. Being an esthetician allows me to express my creativity while connecting with others and making them feel their best, which is something I truly cherish.

After completing my training, I actively sought internships and entry-level positions that allowed me to work directly with clients. These experiences were invaluable, enabling me to apply what I learned in the classroom to real-world situations. I quickly realized that building strong relationships with clients was just as important as the technical skills I was developing. Each interaction taught me more about individual needs and the transformative power of proper skincare.

What sets me apart in my field is my unwavering commitment to continuous learning and improvement. I take pride in staying current with the latest skincare trends and techniques, which allows me to offer the best services to my clients. My dedication goes beyond merely keeping up with trends; I genuinely care about investing in my growth and the well-being of my clientele.

What excites me most is the opportunity to make a real difference in my clients’ lives. I strive to be the best ethical esthetician, focusing not only on the quality of my work but also on building trust and rapport with each client. I would undoubtedly choose to take them on an exploration of the lively North Park area, a vibrant cultural hub that has captured my heart for quite some time. The atmosphere here is electrifying, with a dynamic mix of friendly faces, infectious music, curated drinks, and an enticing array of food options that cater to diverse tastes.

One of my top recommendations is The Office, a cozy bar with an inviting ambiance, where dim lighting and comfortable seating create the perfect environment for enjoying an eclectic mix of electronic music. True North is another fantastic spot that radiates energetic hip-hop vibes, showcasing an impressive selection of craft cocktails and locally brewed beers. For a more playful evening, Coin-Op offers a nostalgic experience with its vintage arcade games and an extensive assortment of craft beers, making it a perfect venue for a spirited night out. Additionally, the area is dotted with local breweries that embody the artisanal spirit of the craft beer movement.

For a delightful breakfast, Flap Your Jacks is a must-visit. This charming eatery invites you to create your pancake masterpiece, complete with an array of creative toppings that will tantalize your taste buds. Breakfast Republic is equally enticing, boasting a reputation for its inventive and hearty dishes, such as the legendary Jurassic Pork sandwich and their scrumptious French toast, both of which are sure to leave you craving more. As the sun sets, Underbelly emerges as a standout choice for dinner. What I adore most about North Park is its endless possibilities for exploration; you can easily stroll from one amazing spot to another, discovering hidden gems and the vibrant local culture that this area truly embodies.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I want to dedicate this shout-out to my husband, Oscar Hernandez. He deserves immense credit for being my rock throughout my journey. His unwavering support has been invaluable, and I couldn’t be more thankful for everything he does. During tough times, he has been there for me emotionally and financially, consistently going above and beyond. Without his encouragement and presence, I might have given up long ago. He truly deserves recognition for all that he does.

Additionally, I want to recognize my friends and family, and most importantly, my clients. They are the ones who continue to support my dream, and I wouldn’t be here without them. They have been there for me, cheering me on and offering their love and support when I needed it most. Each of them plays a significant role in my journey!
