We had the good fortune of connecting with Krishna Domakonda and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Krishna, we’d love to hear what makes you happy.
Food makes me happy! Cooking for my loved ones has always been my way of showing affection. Experimenting with Indian flavors, cooking for friends and seeing their excitement while trying my food makes my day
For me, coming out of my comfort zone and taking the first step to start the business was the hardest. From there it has been hard but equally exciting to finally do the things that I had always dreamt about.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Growing up in India, coming to this country for graduate studies and pursuing a professional career has been a long but exciting journey. Every immigrant has a story and mine was to find stability in my career, support the family and pursue my passion.
I have faced many challenges along the way but I stayed true to my path and I am proud to finally take a step towards fulfilling my dreams now.
Opportunities don’t always find you, sometimes you have to take steps to create one for yourself.
Our brand emerged purely from our love and passion for creating comfort food and we want you to experience it while trying our food.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
First day with my best friend will be all about reliving happy memories. I would cook amazing food at home so we can stay at home that evening, eat good food, talk about our lives and remember good old times.
The next morning I would go to a good brunch place, somewhere with a nice ocean view. We would spend time outdoors doing either hiking, biking or just relaxing by the beach. I would then take this person to one of my favorite food places in town ‘The Promiscuous Fork’ in La Jolla to eat their amazing pork sandwich!
The next couple of days will be all about trying different cuisines in San Diego and doing some outdoor activities. Hole-in-the-wall food places are actually the best so I would definitely have my friend try a burrito in pacific beach. I would also make sure to visit ‘Lola 55’ in downtown for cocktails and tacos
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
To our family for their unconditional love and support. To all the people who have encouraged us to follow our passion and be the best we can.
A big shoutout to special friends and partners who have put in lot of effort in making this a reality
