We had the good fortune of connecting with Kitchy Crouse and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Kitchy, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
Being you and trusting yourself. Is the beginning is hard to be a creative and confident, but that is so important. Explore what makes you unique. It is a major key to success.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
I have a unique sense of design and style. My design comes from living in many countries, experiencing many cultures and being able to experiment with colors and patterns. KC Interior Design is a full-service interior design firm based in beautiful Encinitas. Our philosophy is built on the dual concept of client service and design excellence. It is about how well the space, inside and out, reflects the people in it, by inspiration, creativity and function. We take great pride in creating a relationship with our clients that allows this process to move smoothly and to achieve a space that reflects them effortlessly and uniquely.
I want the world to know that I am different. My design is not your typical southern California design – and I love it. I am also proud of having 3 wonderful woman that work for me and with me. It is a blessing.
It was Not easy to get here, never easy. It is challenging to start as a designer as you don’t have a portfolio and no one will hire you if you don’t have a portfolio. I was blessed to have a husband in the industry that help me get my first jobs and after a few project and a lot of hard work I was able to build a business on my own.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
We would start the day with a walk on the beach, then maybe a jump on the ocean, surf or just relaxing and sun tanning. Then we would go for an acai in downtown Encinitas. While we are there, we might explore the cute stores and the nice cafes. On the way todinner, we would make a quick stop at Ponto beach to appreciate the sunset. My favorite restaurants at the moment are June et Jolie in Carlsbad or Vaga in Leucadia.
The self realization center is also a place that is worth it a visit… maybe get a bike and ride it there?!
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Mostly the very dedicates instructors of Mesa College. They are so dedicated and incredible teachers.
