We had the good fortune of connecting with Kat Mulvaney and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Kat, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
The number one factor that best lead me to my success is the fact that I love what I do. Doing what I love has defined my success in my own life and has been able to drive my career. I am super grateful that everyday when I go to work, it never feels like work. I enjoy what I do, I enjoy the people I work with, and I enjoy the guests I’m servicing. I have fun while being able to make a living from it. It really is amazing! Since Covid-19, the salon has been closed and I have been out of work. I told myself to be patient and that eventually I will be going back to work- I just didn’t know when. My business could not end. I had to figure out how to stay current and keep my clients engaged and make sure they knew I haven’t forgotten about them and show them how eager I am to get back to the salon! One way I was able to stay in contact with my guests has been staying active on social media. I have had so much fun making hair tutorials for them showcasing different hairstyles and hair products. Hearing their responses and comments to my videos has been really uplifting during these trying times. I am so excited to get my hands back in hair as soon as it’s safe! And remember, if you love what you do it will show and great success will happen!

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
I am a licensed hairstylist for the past 10 years. I specialize in Color, Design, and Styling.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
It’s always a fun time with me and my friends! When my out of town friends visit me here in SD we visit all over.. I love spending the day at the beaches in La Jolla & hiking at Torrey Pines. Going out on my friends boat on Mission Bay followed by sunsets are so beautiful here in Southern California. We also love Little Italy for dinner and drinks. And of course, before they leave we go to the shoppe and they get a haircut before they leave! 🙂

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
