We had the good fortune of connecting with Justin Navalle and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Justin, do you have a favorite quote or affirmation?
“There’s a simple doctrine: outside of a person’s love, the most sacred thing that they can give is their labor.” – James Carville

We believe that living is connected to giving, and giving is connected living. The work that we do at Quartyard and ItsFarOut in its simplest form is to create opportunities for others to create.

We create place for the human experience. That is the labor.

We recognize the importance of nurturing an ecosystem where people’s labor and creativity can create win/win synergies. That synergy defines our success and influences the projects that we take on.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
ItsFarOut is a boutique hospitality management firm that believes radical activation can create radical change.

Through the brands that we have founded and managed we create a place for humans to connect.

Looking forward, we aim to create long term relationships with creative partners that put community, art, and memorable activation at the forefront of their endeavors.

The brands that we currently manage and/or own are: Quartyard, West Coast Weekender Festival, The Deep End, and Daybreaker San Diego.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?

Go see a show here: Quartyard for Roller Skates and Taco Plates on Tuesday, Panama 66 for jazz on Wednesday, go to a Casbah show, a Soda Bar show, a Belly Up show, and hit a dance party at The Deep End.

Must go to meals in no particular order:
Cantina Mayahuel in Normal Height, Mitch’s Seafood in Point Loma, Cowboy Star for dinner in East Village, Tacos El Godro, Salud in Barrio Logan, and Las Cuatros Milpas at some point.

Xtra Points:
Get a haircut at Tailored Hair For Men, cruise Balboa Park Sunday morning with the pups, rent a boat and cruise the bay, sunset at Sunset Cliffs.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My parents taught me to work hard, appreciate others around me, to be grateful, and to be a helpful person.
