We had the good fortune of connecting with Josh Trent and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Josh, how do you think about risk?
I think about risk as a fuel source and stimulus for growth; if I’m not risking something every day then essentially I’m not growing. We’ve all heard the social media meme “on the other side of discomfort is your dreams” and I have to say this plays out to be true quite a bit. When I look at the largest mistakes I ever made in my 20’s it was when I was afraid of risk and I chose the path of perceived “safety” by taking the well beaten path – but let’s be honest, there is no such thing as safety – especially in today’s fast-paced and ever-changing career landscape. I take risks in my career, podcasts, friendships, relationship, and every way that I can because it is how I sharpen my sword of intuition that allows me to actually live a life of freedom, and ultimately to live my life well.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Since 2015 our mission with Wellness Force has been to help humans heal mental, emotional and physical health through podcasts, programs and a global community who believe in optimizing our potential to live life well. That hasn’t changed in over 3 million downloads. In July of 2015 I started this podcast mission, yet ever since early childhood, I have known, deep down, that I march to the beat of a different drummer. I’ve faced inner and outer demons I wouldn’t wish on anyone; I’ve done a lot of deep work to let go of old stories about genetics, beliefs, and the people and things that don’t serve my well-being. But yet as challenging as this has been, I’ve also learned that when you operate from a place of love and service to others, and if your soul really wants something, all the universe conspires in helping you to achieve it. We believe that the growing mental health crisis represents an opportunity for humanity to come together and heal. We believe that our food, water, and air we breathe will be natural, organic, and free from pesticides and pollution. We believe that conscious capitalism is a tool for the evolution of humanity. We Help Humans Discover Physical & Emotional Intelligence To Live Life Well. What I want the world to know about my story is that the only way out of your own internal and external hurdles is to go right through them; there is no such thing as ” good vibes only ” it doesn’t actually exist. we have all been sold a lie that as long as we put our head down and work hard that good things will happen and this is absolutely not true. What I have learned is that if you keep your head up, network, work hard, work smart, make the right relationships, double down on your strengths, surrender yourself to the will of the universe and to God’s love, then yes, if it is God’s will than everything will point you toward something great happening.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If I had a perfect week in San Diego I would spend time in a Mercedes-Benz sprinter Van starting at Ocean Beach and traveling all the way up to Carlsbad stopping at all the wonderful beaches and staying far far away from the city – stick to the nature it’s more fun anyways 🙂 After I hit all the beaches I would definitely go to Little Italy for the restaurants, and I would not miss the tacos at city tacos here in Encinitas! PS: make sure you check out Brigantine downtown on the water, especially if you’re looking for a nice place to take a special lady.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
