We had the good fortune of connecting with Jorian Goes and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Jorian, do you have any habits that you feel contribute to your effectiveness?
Tenacity and staying focused each and every day has contributed greatly to my success. I write a list and prioritize my tasks. As a business owner it is so easy to get pulled into many different directions, understanding the importance of each task and delegating my time efficiently has helped me both personally and professionally. I enjoy being active and working out regularly has been crucial. Playing ice hockey, hitting a round of golf, going to the gym, or even joining a local kickball team has been great for social interactions and stress relief. Incorporating physical activities into my routine has helped me stay focused as well as maintain a healthy mind and body.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I thrive on human interactions and being able to provide assistance when needed. Yes, it is nice to be financially successful however it is not the only goal in life. I believe it is more beneficial and satisfying to leave a positive mark on society. Navigating a professional career has been riddled with challenges, I’ve learned the best way to overcome most challenges is, to first and foremost don’t give up and get discouraged. Plans and ideas come to fruition after a great deal of work and energy are exerted. It is not easy to hear no multiple times but it is better than giving up and walking away. You have to believe in what you are doing and that is what has helped me find success. Ticket Snipers was founded on my desires to help people that weren’t able to obtain the high costs of legal services. Traffic ticket costs are extremely high and most people don’t have the funds to give to the court and a legal service to help them. We thrive on our transparency and being able to put drivers in the best position for dismissal at affordable costs. Legal services can be frustrating as services usually lack reputations of transparency. It takes extra time and care to provide individualized attention and make sure a client understands the process that most services don’t offer. Although it is not always easy or glamorous, we are proud of the level of professionalism, transparency, and affordability. The most rewarding part of my job is hearing from a client after undergoing the process to let us know that we made things simple, straightforward, and affordable.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
San Diego has so much to offer and I enjoy driving around town in the Ticket Snipers golf cart. We drop off documents at the post office, give clients a ride to and from the office, and sunset cruising along the coast is a must. The Pennant Bar in Mission Beach is one of my favorite local bars; I like to stop in and have a drink with Bullet, the best bartender in San Diego. For dinner, Mister A’s is a classic stop, not only is the food delicious but the view of the skyline is beautiful. The Cave Store in La Jolla is a fun historic landmark, it leads to Sunny Jim’s Sea Cave. It’s been said that during Prohibition, bootleggers smuggled alcohol into San Diego through the sea cave by carrying it through this tunnel.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My family deserves the biggest shoutout. Without their continued support it would have been very difficult to navigate the rough waters of running a business. I reach out to my parents constantly seeking advice and guidance. Although in my adolescent years this was not always the case, I’m grateful to have a strong support system to keep me grounded and focused.
