We had the good fortune of connecting with Jorge Sevilla III and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jorge, what is the most important factor behind your success?
Doing what I love and enjoy most has allowed me to pursue a career filled with passion. Passion has been behind my all of my success.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
When I started I first learned American Traditional and with that came learning About the history of the industry. As I started taking new clients I was able to realize where my passion lies in this industry. From there I was able to learn other styles and techniques and grow into my own niche. Currently I love doing black and gray fine line tattoos. I also enjoy doing portraits and anything that challenges my creativity.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Food: WUNDERLAND-OB, South Beach-OB,

Places: Hotel Del, La Jolla, Julian

Activities: Beach Bar hopping, Spear fishing, Breweries

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I started getting tattoos which sparked interest in the industry. A huge thank you to the true artists for the never ending inspiration. An even bigger shoutout to my wife for 100% supporting all my decisions for this lifestyle and the changes that came along with it. Thank you to Matt Phelan ( owner of Vessel Tattoo Co., El Cajon – CA) for taking me on as an apprentice and guiding me to where I am today. The crew here had a large part of my growth in being a tattoo artist and N artist in general. Thank you Nicki, Jake, Chris, and Matty. Thank you to my clients that have trusted in my ability to give you a forever piece of artwork.
