We had the good fortune of connecting with Jennifer Milligan and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jennifer, why did you decide to pursue a creative path?
I have always been a creative soul and I still feel like I have to have a creative outlet. It’s therapeutic to me. Whether it be cooking, drawing, sewing, I’ve dabbled in many arts and crafts over the years. Growing up I loved drawing and painting. As I matured I became obsessed with makeup! I did freelance makeup for years actually. And now I’m making jewelry and I love it.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
All my earrings are made in small batches and many styles are one of a kind. I have so much fun making all the different types of earrings. I honestly feel like I will never run out of new styles to make. I am proud that I have grown so much in the past year and I am excited for this Holiday season. One thing many don’t know is I create spooky jewelry year round. I started my small business making Halloween styles and I always have it available for my customers! Halloween is a lifestyle for me! That being said I also have plenty of everyday styles for sale as well.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I would definitely take them to Ocean Beach! I love OB! There are so many small businesses there and I love them all. I love OB so much my husband proposed to me on the pier. It’ll always hold a special place in my heart.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My mom! Definitely wouldn’t be where I am today without her. She’s always been so supportive, would make every holiday so special and also would take me to all the craft shows growing up. She also made it a point to do crafts with us growing up from soap making to candle making! My Dad for always being the hardest worker, I definitely have shown up even when I don’t feel like it because of him! Also, my husband! He always helps me with setup and has never missed a market, he has been so supportive with me perusing my craft!
