We had the good fortune of connecting with Jenna Gessay and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Jenna, how do you think about risk?
Taking risks was part of my upbringing, but not necessarily part of my personality. Wired to stay in the lines, clinging often to a false safety, I have learned over time that leaping in faith toward callings deep within is always in alignment, even if you land in unexpected territory. I believe the Divine has hands in the architecture of what is possible when we say “Yes” to the deepest part of our soul’s calling, and doing so builds our faith. This is what I help people do now, and it is tremendously powerful. When you can receive guidance from deep within, and it is clear, it can become painful to ignore. In my mind, it is a safe bet to heed the guidance of your soul, even if it doesn’t feel logical, rational or make sense on paper. Taking leaps like this have also at times left me saying to my ego, “I can always go back.” For instance when I left a high-profile Biotech career to offer spiritual insight and soul support instead, connecting people to their intuition, it was a big moment of change. I remember that there were ways for me to stay where I had been—it was lucrative, comfortable, my ego was acknowledged, I was “successful”…but it wasn’t filling my soul, and was no longer aligned. I chose to walk that synchronistic, unpredictable, magical and aligned path instead, and I will always be grateful for that courage. My philosophy now is to never ignore your truth and intuition, even if following it is profoundly risky because even if you fall, there will be learning that was meant just for you. At this point in my life on the brink of another big shift, I have learned to never say no to the Divine callings in my soul.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
I am passionate about, and delightedly gifted in, helping people spiritually navigate into Divine alignment. I help people all over the world trust themselves, and connect with their souls, God, angels, guides, ancestors and / or whatever they hold sacred through the language of intuition. I love that my business is truly doing what I love, that it is a business of pure connection, guidance and spiritual insight, and that it isn’t for one specific niche of humans, it is built to serve any soul. Something interesting about my business is that my degree is actually in marketing, and I’ve never really had to do any big marketing for this business, which has been awesome! After a session with me, most people will share what they experienced with at least one friend or family member, so my practice keeps growing on its own. I also love serving three generations in multiple families, and people from places I’ve never visited. Working virtually and mostly over the phone is such a wonderful way to connect and tune in together.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Oh dear. Well you’d think a spiritual consultant would have some good answers here, but honestly I’ve been raising two babies for the past 5 years, so I am not as aware of what’s new and exciting, particularly in the night life scene, mama is tired! We spend most of our time exploring the Safari Park, Zoo, Legoland and the aquarium there, Balboa park museums, parks and hiking trails, the beach, climbing trees, bike trails, camping etc. I’m sorry I’m not much help here! Coffee does keep me going however, bonus points if I can meet a girlfriend and do a beach walk with a latte! So up here in North County I love Lofty Coffee Co., GoodOnYa, Nectarine Grove, Claire’s and Choice Juicery is also awesome…all close for beach walks!
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Enormous gratitude to all of the healers and teachers that played a role in where I am today, and to my community who has been tremendously supportive, not only in following their own soul’s light, but in helping me continue to be able to do this as my career for a decade.
