We had the good fortune of connecting with Jane Saunders and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Jane, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
I was attending an event with my granddaughters at a botanic garden. I overheard someone say, “I didn’t even know this place was here!” That comment sparked my desire to be an explorer who helped others find unique events and activities in L.A., Orange and San Diego Counties.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
I help families, individuals, and anyone in between find unique events and activities year-round in Orange, Los Angeles, and San Diego Counties. My treasure trove of these events and activities is constantly filled with new and stimulating adventures in our local areas – this is my passion! I deliver these customized explorations based on a form filled out by my client.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I would take her to dinner at Las Brisas in Laguna Beach, making sure we had a table by the window with that spectacular ocean view. While dining, I’d ask her if it was essential for her to go to Disneyland. If she said “yes”, I’d make sure we’d get there. Rather than taking her to places I think she might like to see, I’d ask what her interests were: museums, gardens, shopping, art galleries, theme parks, etc. Then, I would create an itinerary based on her choices. For me, the most exciting places are Disneyland, The Getty in L.A., Santa Monica Pier, numerous botanical gardens throughout Southern California, Rodeo Drive in Beverly Hills, and so much more.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I want to shout out to my coach, Carolyn, who is always cheering me on when I’m not feeling very creative. She finds the right words to encourage me with her own creativity! She’s helped me learn new skills, especially in technology. She asks the right questions that guide me to reach my conclusions in various situations.
