Meet Greg Kuchan | Real Estate Consultant

We had the good fortune of connecting with Greg Kuchan and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Greg, how has your work-life balance changed over time?
I think the idea of “balance” is a myth. Just like multitasking, you cannot efficiently do two things at once. Life is more of a pendulum and the goal is to keep the swing between work and life even. Catching myself as soon as possible when the pendulum has swung to far out for to long in one direction is key to a happy and successful life.
My mornings are my time to fill my cup. When the surf is good I am in the ocean, when the weather is bad I am rock climbing and I am always up to try out something new. When I have a successful morning, the rest of my day goes smooth and I am capable of giving my best to all my clients.
Over the years I have become more efficient with my time. That allows me to focus more on the tasks I am currently doing and no longer have the feeling of fomo. Which from the outside looking in appears as balance.

What should our readers know about your business?
Our team of full-time real estate agents is passionate about using our innovative concierge approach to assist our clientele with the buying and selling process to achieve unrivaled results. The Yost Quesada Team’s deep commitment to customer service paired with our technology platform and worldwide reach enables our team to provide our clients with an unmatched level of service. We build long-term relationships, which allow us to provide personalized, clear and concise advice on all areas of property in Coronado and San Diego. Through our alliance with Knight Frank Residential, we have the exclusive ability to offer our clients the largest connected network for residential properties in the world.
Previously I worked in the yachting industry in a variety of positions including Captain. Traveling the world, working on multi-million-dollar yachts, there was an omnipresent focus on maximizing a positive client experience. Now working in real estate, I have transitioned that attention to detail toward my clients.
Making the transition was not easy, there were many long days and doubts in the beginning that I was on the right path. But with persistence and experience I am now confident that I have made the right move and I am here to help!

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Week long trip…Well its fall and the ski mountains are opening up. So I would have the perfect California day/week. Start off at Big Bear Mountain Resort. Spend the day and hit a couple runs on the slopes. On your way back to San Diego you have to drive through Joshua tree. Get a group campsite on the north side of the park. There are great beginner to advanced spots to go rock climbing right next to the group campsites. Spend the morning climbing and the rest of the day taking in the sights of the park. After passing the Salton Sea, you are going to turn up into the mountains making your way to Julien and get yourself one of their famous pies. Rent a short term vacation rental in a cute cabin, make sure there is a fireplace! For the last few days find a place as close to the beach as possible. My recommendation would be at the new Alila Marea Beach Resort. Incredible views to wake up to in the morning. A short walk down the 101 and you have your pick of locally owned restaurants that are serving incredible food. My go to is La Papagayo after a surf session at Swami’s. Now that is the best week in the greater San Diego area that you can tell all your friends about!
