We had the good fortune of connecting with Eric Amaya and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Eric, what role has risk played in your life or career?
Everyday that we live our lives, we risk getting hit by a car walking down the street, we risk getting a bad order at a restaurant. Risk is something I have encountered my whole life, in music it is something that I deal with all the time as well. I risk not being with my family while I’m working on music at locations or having to be at events that are music related. I risk the ability to be able to rest well due to the irregular schedule of working with different artist. I risk not knowing if I will gain back what I have invested financially towards music. Although risk can be scary it is something that I will never shy away from.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I am a producer, I create beats for artists to sing or rap over and together we make songs. My specialty is being able to make beats for different genres. I am known to be willing to work with any type of genre and able to create something the artist is happy with. I am also known for being ambitious, creative and extremely passionate because I really give it my all. I am most prideful of my growth and development as a producer. I sometimes amaze myself with some of the things that I come up with and honestly, it’s an amazing feeling to be able to create something that makes others happy, want to dance, cry or laugh because music can give a person those feelings. I believe that what sets me apart from other producers is my ability to include some of my personal cultural musical sounds and rhythms that I make sure complement the song entirely and add to the final product. That is my way of leaving my signature on the song, a piece of my life represented in music form.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If my beat friend was to visit the are I would definitely take them to eat breakfast at flappy jacks or toasted buns. I would take them to the beach or the amazing know mountain trails. I would also take them to the famous theme parks Disneyland or Universal Studios.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
The big shoutout is definitely my wife and family they definitely play a big role in my life everyday.
